Use this portable version The install version is trouble
Squiggle had problems with file transfer and setup was glitchy. Lan Messenger was straight forward setup. After install don't worry is people don't show up right away.
Change the way LM icon in tray appear so it always shows for quick access.
Squiggle is open source and free and just works. It is early and I am finding quirks.
You may need to install Visual C 2010 x86 if you are not up to date. Use x86 even on x64 OS.
The group was not accessible a few times right away, don't know if that continues.
This is a slick, stand alone solution to intra LAN chat that, from the start, works better than others I have tried. But I only had a chance to use it for an hour so far.
